Join us in celebrating the Astrocampus' first birthday! At 7:30, in P/L/001, Professor Chris Stewart of the University of Sydney will deliver a lecture asking why do we study and research astronomy, and why do we teach astronomy? With all of the issues and problems and challenges we face on the surface of our own planet, why turn our faces to the heavens? Afterwards, join us at the Astrocampus itself for a tour of the facilities and, of course, birthday cake! The Astrocampus will also be open every night for the remainder of the week, to celebrate not only its birthday, but British Science Week and the BBC's Stargazing Live as well!
